Sunny Side Up Breakfast

December 30, 2022 – An 8″ x 8″ acrylic painting of a morning breakfast that contains sunny-side-up eggs, butter & toast, slices of avocado, and a stem of cherry tomatoes. The objective was to paint in the style of impasto and not be overly picky about perfect lines.

Seeing the layers of color and the brush strokes, especially in the background, can take the viewer through a journey of how this painting was made. I wanted to practice making a painting that contain mistakes to show myself that not everything needs to be perfect. The light green lines that imply a plate are shaky while the cherry tomatoes are lumpy circles.
