Floral Vase

September 2023 – An 8″ x 10″ oil painting of a vase with flowers. The objective was to get used to creating the colors I needed while using a limited palette of red, blue, yellow, and white. Learning to create darks using contrasting colors and acknowledging that there are some that can not be mixed without the help of premade tubes.

I made this painting during an Introductory painting course in college. This painting was supposed to be quick and did not have the purpose of replicating the reference image but instead focusing on color.
