Pastel Fruit Bowl

August 29, 2023 – A 23″ x 17″ oil pastel drawing of a fruit bowl. The objective was to divide the reference into monochromatic shapes to create an interesting use of color and the effect that it has when identifying objects and establishing mood.

This piece was inspired by my Billie Eilish drawing. When it came to distributing the colors I made sure that they were not close to each other on the color wheel. It’s very hard to add detail with rounded pastels so I focused on the shadows to establish the edges of an object.
