Tea set

November 2023 – A tea set that consists of a teapot, teacup, and bowl. The objective of this project was to create a fictional teapot that contained a structured handle, cover, and spout. The bowl and teacup were extras that I made for fun.

I made the bowl bigger than the base of the teapot so that when storing the ceramic piece the teapot can sit and be protected inside of the bowl. The pattern featured on the teapot will never be hidden because it is replicated on the bowl.

I made the teacup handle extremely thick because I felt like it was unique. There was also a challenge of creating a handle that wouldn’t break. Since I did not use a pottery wheel for the pieces they had to be thick to survive the kiln.
