Oil Pastel Landscapes
These landscapes are continuous and get done during my free time or when I want to wind down. They are a variety of sizes and are typically done in my sketchbook.
The landscapes that I choose to draw are a mixture of reference photos along with my imagination. Sometimes I will sketch a landscape in my sketchbook with the intention of going back later to use the composition for a painting or oil pastel.
I create these oil landscapes because I find them to be quick and easy, which allows my mind to settle down. I find that the saturation and texture of the oil pastels can be very forgiving and takes off the pressure of having to create a great piece of work every time.
