Billie Eilish

February 9, 2020 – A 12″ x 18″ drawing of Billie Eilish. The medium used is colored pencil. The objective was to divide the image into fragments and achieve value and dimension using a limited color palette.

Seeing and experimenting with the different values of one color can simplify things to an extent. Planning out your lightest color and your darkest in order to create depth within the face can be a challenge. Making sure that the middle shade doesn’t blend or stick out from the rest. Finding out what colors look good next to each other had to be taken into consideration.
