Summer Rain

March 7, 2025 – An 11″ x 14″ graphite drawing of a woman pinning up her hair. The objective was to replicate the original woodblock print because I liked the art style used and the extreme detail and care that goes into the woman’s clothing.

This drawing wasn’t challenging, but I had to be patient with it because of the use of perspective and the multiple details not only on the woman but also her surrounding environment.

The original artwork I referenced was “Summer Rain, Beppu Hot Springs”, Hakuho Hirano, 1936.
