Waves #2

2024 – A 14″ x 11″ oil painting of a beach in California. The objective was to practice painting something difficult. Creating a fast painting that simplified a complex landscape was challenging.

Creating the white water along the shore and dark blue-greens deeper into the ocean helped create depth and motion. My goals were to create a perspective and use space in a way that doesn’t make your eyes go to the center or flow off the canvas.
