Stipple Mandala

May 11, 2023 – A 7 1/2″ x 7 1/2″ ink mandala that was made using a stippling technique. The objective was to challenge myself with a bigger and more complex piece compared to other stipple works I have done. This piece was inspired by the arches featured throughout the Colesseum and the sculpture of Cato the Elder.

I layered and condensed dots to create a sense of depth and variety. This is what I did throughout the arches and specific features of the faces such as the eyes, wrinkles, and shadows created by the nose and mouth.
